Pouring wax experiment

Pouring wax experiment

Cast my legs in plaster; the thing that I like with plaster is that it will never look nice and neat, it will always look messy. I delieratly made the edges drape and hang down and i intentionally used too much plaster so it would run.
I then pourned melted wax into the lap of the legs and watched the wax drip down. I experimented as I was doing it with how far the wax travelled down the legs with how much wax I put on. I also wanted to use earthy looking colours as the bumps in the plaster reminded me of a landscape.
The thing I find most interesting about the wax dripping and building up are the shapes of the drips that form; these remind me of mineral deposits in caves and cabins.
